PM briefed on internal, external security environment at IB; allows fresh recruitments in urgency of situation

imageISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed the Intelligence Bureau (IB) to build its capacity to deal with internal and external security challenges.
The Prime Minister said this during his visit to Intelligence Bureau Headquarters in Islamabad on Friday. During the visit, he was briefed on issues of national and external security in detail.
The Prime Minister approved different proposals and recommendations to build the capacity of the organization through better human resource intake and procurement of state of the art equipment.
Nawaz Sharif also exempted the Intelligence Bureau from ban on recruitment keeping in view the sensitive nature of its job and urgency of current security situation.
The Prime Minister was also briefed on counter terrorism initiatives and activities of the organization.
Ministers of Interior, Finance and Information & Broadcasting also attended the briefing.
