ISLAMABAD: The Senate was informed on Friday that the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation will launch the Housing Scheme for government employees on Monday and it will be completed in two years.

Minister of State for Housing and Works Usman Ibrahim told the House during question hour that the membership drive for the scheme was announced in August 2009 with the approval of the Prime Minister. He said 20167 members have been registered so far under the drive.

To a question‚ the Minister of State said that an amount of Rs. 1296 million has been collected from the allottees of Officer's Housing Scheme Kuri Road Islamabad and out of this amount Rs 255 million have been utilized under different heads of the scheme.

Convener Senate Special Committee on mass transport system for Islamabad Mushahid Hussain Syed laid before the House report of the committee.

Leader of the House Raja Zafar-ul-Haq laid before the House the Civil Servants (Amendment) Ordinance‚ 2013.
